TO CONTRACT FOR
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
The City of Corpus Christi, Texas hereinafter called "CITY", and FREESE AND NICHOLS, INC.,
hereinafter called "CONSULTANT", agree to the following amendment(s)to the Contract for Engineering
Services for Police Vehicle Impound Yard and Garage— Phase 2 (Bond 2012) (Project E12126), as
authorized and administratively amended by:
Original Contract September 16, 2014 Motion No. 2014-121 $110,168.00
In the original contract, Section I. Scope of Services shall be modified by the addition of the
following scope of Basic and Additional Services as shown on Exhibit "A".
Basic Services:
Design Phase
1. Prepare civil design for new project site approximately 400 feet northeast along Civitan
Drive of the original property site. The new site includes an existing parking lot and two
existing buildings. The existence of the existing buildings will require additional
consideration of their parking requirements and number of spaces lost by construction the
forensics building on existing parking spaces. Additionally, the new project site will require
the addition of a fire hydrant to meet code requirements on hose distance. Prepare
drawings and specifications for construction on the new site.
Additional Services:
Topographic Survey
1. Perform additional topographic survey to provide adequate topographic data on the new,
larger site. Additionally, the existing buildings will need to be tied into the survey.

In the original contract, Section III. Fees shall be modified as shown for a fee not to exceed $5,908.00
(Five Thousand, Nine Hundred Eight Dollars and Zero Cents) for a total restated fee not to exceed
$116,076.00 (One Hundred Sixteen Thousand, Seventy Six Dollars and Zero Cents).
All other terms and conditions of the September 16, 2014 contract and amendments between the City
and Consultant will remain in full force and effect.

Amendment No.1
Dear Mrs.Gray,
Freese and Nichols,Inc.(FNI)would respectfully request your consideration of our amendment#1 for
Police Vehicle Impound Yard and Garage—Phase 2(Bond 2012)(City Project No.E12126). The
amendment includes basic and additional services required when the City moved the project site from
the original site to a new adjacent site. The new site required additional survey and additional design
efforts that were not included in the original contract. These activities included the addition of a fire
hydrant and the consideration of lost parking spaces for the existing buildings at the new project site.
Additionally,the City has requested that all front end documents be updated to reflect the usepf Civcast
for bidding purposes.FNI respectfully requests a contract amendment in the amount of$7,555 to
address the additional time and effort required to support these project tasks.

DEFINITIONS
a. "Board member." A member of any board. commission, or committee appointed by the
City Council of the City of Corpus Christi,Texas.
b. "Economic benefit". An action that is likely to affect an economic interest if it is likely to
have an effect on that interest that is distinguishable from its effect on members of the public
in general or a substantial segment thereof.
c. "Employee." Any person employed by the City of Corpus Christi, Texas either on a full or
part-time basis, but not as an independent contractor.
d. "Firm." Any entity operated for economic gain, whether professional, industrial or
commercial, and whether established to produce or deal with a product or service, including
but not limited to, entities operated in the form of sole proprietorship, as self-employed
person, partnership, corporation,joint stock company,joint venture, receivership or trust, and
entities which for purposes of taxation are treated as non-profit organizations.
e. "Official." The Mayor, members of the City Council, City Manager, Deputy City
Manager, Assistant City Managers, Department and Division Heads, and Municipal Court
Judges of the City of Corpus Christi,Texas.
