HomeMy WebLinkAboutC2015-244 - 8/11/2015 - NA SMALL A/E AGREEMENT for Architect/Engineer Services This AGREEMENT is between the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation, "CITY", acting through its duly authorized City Manager or designee ("City Engineer"), and MAVERICK ENGINEERING, INC. a Texas corporation, acting through its duly authorized representative who is William Fordtran, P.E. (ENGINEER), which agree as follows: 1. DECLARATIONS. "CITY" desires to engage "ENGINEER" to provide services in connection with City's project,described as follows: Creekview Drive Extension BOND 2014 Proposition 2(Project No.E15122) "Project". 2. SCOPE OF WORK. "ENGINEER"shall provide services for the PROJECT in accordance with the accompanying Letter, Scope of Services, and Fee attached as "Exhibit A". 3. FEE. The"CITY"agrees to pay the"ENGINEER"for services provided in accordance with Exhibit "A",Scope of Services, and Fee under this AGREEMENT,a total fee not to exceed$27,414.20(in figures),(Twenty Seven Thousand Four Hundred Fourteen Dollars and Twenty Cents) (in words). Monthly invoices will be submitted in accordance with Exhibit"C". 4. INDEMNIFICATION AND HOLD HARMLESS. The "ENGINEER" agrees to indemnify, save harmless and defend the "CITY", and it's agents, servants, and employees as more fully set forth in "Exhibit B". The scope of work proposed for the Creekview Drive project includes the following items: 1. Preparation of construction drawings for approximately 400 feet of new roadway a. Abbreviated ELR with right of way,proposed improvements and preliminary parcel description b. 60%and final submittals c. Design of pavement,alignment, profile d. Design of extension of storm water drainage system including hydrologic calculations,hydraulic calculations and delineation of a drainage area map e. Design of signing,striping,and traffic control plan f. Relocation of existing water, wastewater and gas services as necessary g. Stormwater pollution prevention plan 2. Preparation of construction documents(front end documents and specifications) a. 60%and final submittals 3. Preparation of opinion of construction costs 4. Bid phase services 5. Construction phase administration services 6. Survey a. Topographic b. Coordination with City for right of way 7. Research of city documents and GIS maps 8. Pipeline easement research 9. Public meetings 10. Limited Environmental Site Assessment a. Review environmental conditions and potential for contamination within project limits using agency databases b. Permit preparation 3. Design of water,wastewater or gas lines 4. Traffic warrant analysis or signal design 5. Street lighting analysis or design 6. Pavement lifecycle analysis 7. Subsurface utility investigation 8. Closed circuit TV 9. Construction observation 10. Public Involvement/Public Meetings and providing materials for public meetings 11. Geotechnical study and pavement design(City to provide) Should the City request ay of the services listed above,Maverick Engineering,Inc.will submit another proposal for amendment to the contract. The fees associated with the scope of work described above are attached along with a tentative schedule. The schedule will be revised once the Notice to Proceed and executed contract are received. This Indemnification does not apply to any liability resulting from the negligent acts or omissions of the City of Corpus Christi or its employees, to the extent of such negligence. Consultant must, at City's option, defend Indemnitee and with counsel satisfactory to the City Attorney. Consultant must advise City in writing within 24 hours of any claim or demand against City or Consultant known to Consultant related to or arising out of Consultant's activities under this Agreement.
