Home My WebLink AboutC2015-516 - 12/21/2015 - NA CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI AMENDMENT NO. 1 CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES The City of Corpus Christi, Texas, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation ("City") and Govind Development, LLC ("Consultant"), agree to the following amendments to the Contract for Professional Services for Greenwood Drive from Gollihar Road to Horne Road BOND 2012 (Project No. E12092): Original Contract January 29, 2013 Motion No. M2013-014 $390,773.00 In the Original Contract, Exhibit "A", Section I. Scope of Services shall be amended as set forth in the attached Amendment No.1, Exhibit "A". In the Original Contract, Section 3.1 shall be amended based on the modified scope of services in the attached Amendment No. 1, Exhibit "A" for a fee not to exceed $49,575.00, for a total restated fee not to exceed $440,348.00. All other terms and conditions of the January 29, 2013 Contract for Professional Services between the City and Consultant, and of any amendments to that contract, which are not specifically addressed herein shall remain in full force and effect. Director of Capital Programs City of Corpus Christi 1201 Leopard Street Corpus Christi, Texas 78401 RE: Greenwood Drive from Gollihar Road to Horne Road—BOND 2012 (City Project No. E12092) Engineering Design Change Proposal—Cost Reduction Recommendations Dear Mr. Edmonds, On January 29, 2013 the City of Corpus Christi City Council executed a contract for engineering services with Govind Development, LLC (GDL) for Greenwood Drive Improvements — Gollihar Road to Horne Road (City Project No. E12092). The scope of the project includes the widening and rehabilitation of Greenwood Drive with a full depth pavement reconstruction, curb and gutter, sidewalks and Regional Transportation Authority(RTA) bus stop rehabilitation. City of Corpus Christi — Capital Programs issued a letter on October 13, 2014, Subject: BOND 2012 STREET PROJECT — SCOPE AND COST REDUCTIONS concerning the project costs exceeding available budgets and funding. In light of this we have re-evaluated the Greenwood Drive project and have recommended the following modifications: Recommendation No. 1 (Street Improvements) • Reduce five(5)feet from both sides of roadway(road diet) Potential savings:$ 360,140 Recommendation No. 2 (Storm Water Improvements) • Replace dual-pipe network and replace with one storm water line Potential savings: $309,700 Total potential savings by implementing all recommendations: $669,840 The recommendations do not negatively impact the safety of traveling public and best utilizes the City's limited funds. GDL proposes to perform the work in the above recommendations for a lump sum amount of$49,575. We understand the schedule is critical in getting this project to bid phase so we can perform the work in a timely manner to make the August 2015 letting. Schedule is assuming that GDL receives a Notice to Proceed by May 18, 2015.
