AMENDMENT NO. 1
CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
The City of Corpus Christi, Texas, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation ("City") and Lone Star Shredding &
Document Storage("Consultant"), agree to the following amendments to the Contract for Professional Services for
Engineering Document Scanning (Project No. E12218):
Original Contract December 17, 2012 Administrative Approval $17,245.00
In the Original Contract, Exhibit "A", Section I. Scope of Services shall be amended as set forth in the attached
AMENDMENT NO. 1, Exhibit "A".
In the Original Contract, Section 3 shall be amended based on the modified scope of services in the attached
AMENDMENT NO. 1, Exhibit "A" for a fee not to exceed $3,747.09, for a total restated fee not to exceed
$20,992.09.
All other terms and conditions of the December 17, 2012 Contract for Professional Services between the City and
Consultant, and of any amendments to that contract,which are not specifically addressed herein shall remain in full
force and effect.

Dear Ms. Peppard,
Thank you so much for taking time to review the status of the scanning project of your Engineering Reports.
As we discussed, there are 95 reports that have been scanned/qc'd and ready to be delivered. The billing of
those reports is $970.39. There are approximately 196 reports remaining for scanning. Based on the average
scans from the reports that have been scanned and billed, a conservative estimate for the 196 reports could be
17,000 small scans (11x17 or smaller) and 98 large scans (larger than 11x17) with a cost around $2,300.00.
Also, as we prep the reports for scanning there are some that have cd's included in the report. We take the time
to view the cd and if it has the entire report on the cd, there is no need for us to scan thus reducing cost. Reports
containing color images/texts that are dispersed throughout the reports, are scanned as color images.
There were also 25-30 reports that were requested after the last billing on 12/31/2013 that were scanned on
demand and delivered to your department but still need to be billed. Approximately $250.00 in cost.
Lone Star performs quality control checks throughout the conversion process. The reports are converted into a
digital file format (pdf) and indexed with engineering report # for easy identification. Once your company's
converted files pass all the quality control reviews, we will output your document images onto an external hard
drive for delivery to your office. Your department will then have 30-60 days to review the files. Once they
pass your inspection, we will permanently delete from our server.
You then have the option to collect the hard copy files or we can have them certified and securely destroyed at a
discounted shredding rate of.08 cents per lb.

The pricing is based on estimated quantities and as such, may be more or less than indicated above. We are
prepared to deliver the 95 reports and will resume scanning immediately upon receipt of the $970.39 with a
projected completion of 60-90 days. Please let me know of any issues I can address during your review.
