Exhibit "A", Fees shall be amended based on the modified scope of services in the attached Amendment No. 8, Exhibit "A" for a fee not to exceed $12,180, for a total restated fee not to exceed $8,427,322. All other terms and conditions of the December 1, 2006 Contract for Professional Services between the City and Consultant, and of any amendments to that contract, which are not specifically addressed herein shall remain in full force and effect. INDEXED _..7293 NEW BROADWAY WWTP\CAROLLO\AMENDMENT NO MONTRACT.DOC REV.10/1/15 Attachment A AMENDMENT NO. 8-SCOPE OF SERVICES CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI NEW BROADWAY WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT PROJECT NO. 7293 UV SYSTEM DESIGN MODIFICATIONS 1.0 BACKGROUND The CITY of Corpus Christi (CITY) has retained Carollo Engineers, Inc. (ENGINEER)to provide professional engineering services to address the performance issues with the UV System of the New Broadway Wastewater Treatment Plant(NBWWTP). This Amendment No. 8 provides for Design Engineering Services associated with the installation of new channel baffle plates, deflector plates, and associated channel improvements to the existing UV System. 2.0 PURPOSE This Amendment No. 8 establishes the Scope of Work, the Time of Performance, and the Engineering Services Budget for Design Services to be provided by the ENGINEER for the CITY. The engineering services will consist of the following: • Task 200—Quality Management • Task 300— Design Modifications: UV System Baffle Plate, Deflector Plate and Channel Fillet Improvements 3.0 PROJECT ELEMENTS The scope of services presented herein is based on a project that consists of the major elements summarized below: 1. Work Change Directive Document Preparation: a. Design a new baffle plate to improve the flow characteristics through each of the existing channels. b. Design a deflector plate to improve the flow characteristics through each of the existing channels. c. Design the concrete fillet areas downstream of the flume discharge and before the baffle plate in each of the channels to improve the flow characteristics through each of the existing channels. NO. 8 EXHIBIT"A" Page 1 of 4 4.0 SCOPE OF SERVICES TASK 200 QUALITY MANAGEMENT Task 201 - Internal Quality Management Perform quality management activities on ENGINEER tasks including on-going discipline coordination, technical review, document review, quality assurance/quality control activities, and checking. TASK 300 DESIGN MODIFICATIONS Task 301 - UV System Baffle and Deflector Plate Modifications It is anticipated that at least two sheets of the existing mechanical Drawings must be modified to detail the construction and installation of the baffle plate and deflector plate for the UV System channels. Modify existing Drawings, and develop additional drawings or details as necessary to show construction of the revised baffle plate and deflector plate. Deliverables: Final Drawings for the Project Elements associated with Task 301 (MicroStation, and PDF)to be presented as a Work Change Directive. Task 302 - UV System Channel Modifications It is anticipated that at least two sheets of the existing structural Drawings must be modified to detail the construction of the concrete corner fillets at the discharge of the Parshall Flume and the sloped fillets from the Parshall Flume to just before the baffle plate. Modify existing Drawings, and develop additional drawings or details as necessary to show construction of UV System channel modification details. Deliverables: Final Drawings for the Project Elements associated with Task 302 (MicroStation, and PDF)to be presented as a Work Change Directive. ASSUMPTIONS AND CITY RESPONSIBILITIES In addition to specific assumptions presented within Tasks 200 through 300 above and the following major assumptions apply to the scope of services: April 5, 2016 2 pw://ENGINEER/Documents/Client/TX/Corpus Chnstl/_Proposals/Amendment No.8 AMEND. NO.8 EXHIBIT"A" Page 2 of 4 • 1. Schedule: It is assumed the Work will be completed within one month of Notice to Proceed. 2. Decision Log: The Engineer will maintain a log of major decisions made throughout the project. The Decision Log will be reviewed with the CITY for concurrence. Changes to the agreed-to decisions or retroactive decisions may result in an increase to the schedule and/or fee. 3. File Management: ProjectWise®will serve as the file management system for all project documentation. All drawings and specifications will be saved to the ProjectWise®files created specifically for this project. 4. Site and Project Elements: The scope of services will be limited to those sites and project elements identified under the Project Elements listed above. 5. Deliverables: Up to four(4) paper copies of all deliverables will be provided to the CITY. Final drawing sets will be produced at half-size (11"x 17") scale. All deliverables will also be posted to ProjectWise®. 6. Changes in Laws or Regulations: In the event that changes in Laws or Regulations after the effective date of the authorization impose taxes, fees, or costs on Engineer's services, the costs shall be in addition to the Engineer's estimated total fee presented herein. 7. It is assumed that all structures, equipment, piping, valves, and appurtenances required for the UV System have been properly installed and maintained as per the Contract Documents, and are in proper condition for installation and operation in order to fully evaluate the performance of the system. 8. It is assumed that all Shop Drawings and Submittals required for construction of the UV system have already been approved. 9. Quality Management(Task 200): a. Internal Quality Management: ENGINEER will designate a quality management team to perform overall project review, and quality assurance/quality control of ENGINEER's tasks. Further, each subconsultant team will be responsible for quality management related to their tasks. 10. Design Modification (Task 300): a. 100% Deliverables: These deliverables will include the Drawings necessary to provide direction to the existing Contractor for the modifications to the UV System as part of a Work Change Directive. b. Bid-ready Contract Documents for bidding purposes are NOT provided by this Scope of Work. c. The existing Specifications and details are still in effect, as are all existing Drawings not modified under this Scope of Work. NO. 8 EXHIBIT"A" Page 3 of 4 COMPENSATION Compensation for the above Scope of Services shall be on a lump sum basis with payment made monthly on the basis of progress achieved. The Engineer shall prepare a schedule of values for review by the CITY. Upon acceptance, the schedule of values will be used to establish monthly progress payments versus percent complete. The projected cost for this amendment has been calculated and is defined in Attachment B. The total compensation for the above Scope of Services, including allowances and special services, shall be twelve thousand, one-hundred eighty dollars ($12,180) and shall not be exceeded without prior written authorization from the CITY.
