AMENDMENT NO. 6
CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
The City of Corpus Christi, Texas. hereinafter called "CITY," and Freese and Nichols, Inc. hereinafter
called `ENGINEER." agree to the following amendment to the Contract for Professional Services for
South Staples Street from Brawner Parkway to Kostoryz Road (Bond 2012) (Project No. E12095)
as authorized and administratively amended by:
Original Contract January 29, 2013 Motion No. M2013-017 $731,030.00
Amendment No. 1 July 11, 2014 Administrative Approval $49,537.00
Amendment No. 2 January 23, 2015 Administrative Approval $39,154.00
Amendment No. 3 April 25, 2016 Administrative Approval $37,454.00
Amendment No. 4 October 13, 2016 Administrative Approval $49,883.00
Amendment No. 5 November 28, 2017 Administrative Approval $42,769.00
EXHIBIT A, SECTION 1. SCOPE OF SERVICES, PART A. BASIC SERVICES shall be modified as
shown below.
4. Construction Administration Phase: "ENGINEER" will provide construction administration phase
services and more fully described in Exhibit "A".
EXHIBIT A, SECTION 3. FEES, PART B. SUMMARY OF FEES shall be modified by the attached
Summary of Fees as shown in the attached Exhibit "B" for an additional fee not to exceed $49,951 for
a total restated fee not to exceed $999,778.
All other terms and conditions of the January 29, 2013 contract between the "CITY" and "ENGINEER"
and of any amendments to that contract which are not specifically addressed herein shall remain in full
force and effect.

Dear Mr. Edmonds,
At the request of your staff, Freese and Nichols, Inc. is pleased to submit our contract amendment#6 for
South Staples Street from Brawner Parkway to Kostoryz Road. This amendment includes construction
administration phase services effort as follows:
1. Add Construction Administration Phase Services. Amendment#4 previously deleted the
Construction Administration Phase Services.
a. As part of the project redesign, Amendment#4 deleted the amount for construction
administration phase services. This amendment proposes to add construction
administration phase services back into the contract. Construction administration phase
services will include the following:
i. Participate in pre-construction meeting conference and provide a
recommended agenda for critical construction activities and elements impacted
the project.
ii. Review, Contractor submittals and operating and maintenance manuals for
conformance to contract documents.
iii. Review and interpret field and laboratory tests.
iv. Provide interpretations and clarifications of the contract documents for the
contractor and authorize required changes,which do not affect the contractor's
price and are not contrary to the general interest of the City under the contract.
v. Make regular visits to the site of the Project to confer with the City project
inspector and contractor to observe the general progress and quality of work,
and to determine, in general, if the work is being done in accordance with the
contract documents.This will not be confused with the project representative
observation or continuous monitoring of the progress of construction.
vi. Prepare change orders as authorized by the City; provide interpretations and
clarifications of the plans and specifications for the contractor and authorize
minor changes which do not affect the contractor's price and are not contrary to
the general interest of the City under the contract.

vii. Attend final inspection with City staff and provide the City with a Certificate of
Completion for the project upon successful completion of the project.
viii. Review Contractor-provided construction"red-line" drawings. Prepare Project
record drawings and provide a reproducible set and electronic file(AutoCAD
r.14 or later)within two(2)months of final acceptance of the project.All
drawings shall be CARD drawn using dwg format in AutoCAD,and graphics data
will be in dxf format with each layer being provided in a separate file. Attribute
data will be provided in ASCII format in tabular form. All electronic data will be
compatible with the City GIS system.
The City staff will:
a) Prepare applications/estimates for payments to contractor.
b) Conduct the final acceptance inspection with the Engineer.
Freese and Nichols,Inc. respectfully requests a contract amendment in the amount of$49,951.00 to
address the aforementioned items.
