Box 9277 Corpus Christi,Texas 78469-9277 RE: Amendment No.4 to Professional Services Agreement for Corpus Christi Aquifer Storage and Recovery Feasibility Study(Project No. E16265) Dear Mr. Barabanov: In August 2016,HDR Engineering, Inc (HDR) entered into an agreement with the City of Corpus Christi to provide Professional Services for the Corpus Christi Aquifer Storage and Recovery(ASR) Feasibility Study. Project funding was authorized and allocated by City Council on July 26, 2016, which included HDR's professional services, well drilling and construction services, and provisions for additional requested services and contingencies beyond those identified in the original scope, not to exceed the City's total appropriation' for the project. HDR's original contract and amendment amounts are shown in Attachment 1. The details of the City's contract and amendments with Felder Water Well LC for drilling and construction services are not addressed in this letter. The additional services requested of HDR by City Staff included in this Amendment No 4 are as follows: • Item 1-Coordination,review, and follow-up necessary to gather drilling-related submittals from Felder Water Well LLC pursuant with driller agreement with the City(March 22 to August 2, 2018); and • Item 2- Retesting of Greenwood WWTP samples from Greenwood WWTP for bacteriological, radionuclide, and metals (As and U) analysis for verification purposes, as authorized by email on July 6, 2018. I Approved by City Council on July 26,2016 by Ordinance No.030902,which included but is not limited to acceptance of TWDB grant in amount up to$433,388 and appropriating funding from the Raw Water Supply Development Fund No.4041 to combine with previously assigned Water Supply Operating Fund for a total project budget of$1,857,708 which included contingency for additional efforts that may arise during the three-year study. hdrinc.com 4401 West Gate Blvd.,Suite 400,Austin,TX 78745 T 512.912 5100 F 512-912.5158 Texas Registered Engineering Firm F-754 EXHIBIT A Page 1 of 4 • Mr Alex Barabanov,P.E. September 26,2018 Page 2 ITEM 1- The City's agreement with the driller specified substantial completion within 133 days of notice to proceed, or February 16, 2018. The drilling activities were substantially completed on March 8, 2018,or 138 days (20 weeks) after notice to proceed. Additional HDR support associated with these changes related to field schedule were reflected in HDR's Amendment No. 3. The driller's contract documents and agreement with the City included submittals (Section 33 21 31 Part 1.3) to be provided by the driller. At City staff request, HDR began coordinating with Felder Water Well LLC after drilling was complete to obtain submittals required by driller. From March 22 to August 2, 2018, HDR coordinated with Felder Water Well LLC by email/phone and provided follow-up of outstanding items still needed pursuant to City agreement at an average frequency of twice per week. HDR reviewed materials sent by driller and requested clarification, when needed,on items that were different from HDR field records or inconsistent with prior records provided by the driller. On August 2, 2018,it was deemed that the driller had satisfied the submittal requirement specified in their agreement with the City. ITEM 2- HDR was requested to assist in the re-sampling of Greenwood WWTP effluent. Services included laboratory coordination related to analysis of samples for bacteriological, radionuclide, and metals (As and U), coordination with City staff on sample collection procedures, review of water quality data, comparison to previous results, and summarizing in Geochemical Technical Memo. Attached for your consideration is Amendment No. 4, for costs incurred on activities beyond our original scope of work as summarized in Attachment 1.
