HomeMy WebLinkAbout032143 RES - 06/16/2020 Resolution authorizing a three-year service agreement with Siddons- Martin Emergency Group in an amount not to exceed $1,200,000.00 to provide fire apparatus maintenance parts and services for the Corpus Christi Fire Department(CCFD), upon notice to proceed, with FY 2020 funding in an amount of $100,000.00 available through the General Fund. WHEREAS, Siddons-Martin Emergency Group will provide fire apparatus maintenance parts and services to the Corpus Christi Fire Department's Fleet Maintenance Service Division; WHEREAS, the maintenance parts and services are necessary for sustaining the reliability and dependability of the Fire Department's fire apparatus, an essential part of protecting the public health and safety of the City's residents; WHEREAS, State law provides that such procurements, as outlined above, are subject to statutory procurement requirements, including competitive bids, unless an exception applies; WHEREAS, there is a statutory exception for this procurement in Local Government Code, Section 252.022(a) (2), as this purchase is necessary to provide to preserve or protect the public health and safety of the municipality's residents; and WHEREAS, there is also a statutory exception for this procurement in Local Government Code, Section 252.022(a) (7) (A), as this purchase is available from only one source due to special processes or patents. Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas: Section 1. The City Council specifically finds that the foregoing statements included in the preamble of this resolution are true and correct and adopts such findings for all intents and purposes related to the authorization of this procurement. Section 2.
