of Corpus Christi's $17,960,470 Coronavirus Relief Fund, established by
the CARES Act, to Nueces County for expenses related to the
prevention, preparation for, and response to the COVID-19 public health
emergency.
WHEREAS, the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES)
Act established the Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF), which fund is administered by the
Texas Department of Emergency Management;
WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi's CRF allocation is up to $17,960,470 for
expenses related to the prevention, preparation for, and response to the COVID-19 public
health emergency;
WHEREAS, the City may yield any portion of its CRF allocation; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to approve a transfer of a portion of the City's CRF
allocation to Nueces County for qualified county -incurred expenses related to the COVID-
19 public health emergency.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Council approves a transfer allocation of $3,200,000 from the City of Corpus
Christi's $17,960,470 Coronavirus Relief Fund, established by the CARES Act, to Nueces
County for county -incurred expenses related to the prevention, preparation for, and
response to the COVID-19 public health emergency; and further authorizes the City
Manager, or his designee, to execute all documents necessary to complete the allocation.
