Mayor McComb,
St Paul the Apostle church has had a vision of expanding its youth ministry facilities for quite some time. We have finally
obtained the funding, and after obtaining the permission from the Diocese of Corpus Christi and the permitting from the
City of Corpus Christi, are ready for groundbreaking. To that end, we would like to conduct a simple, and safe, ground
breaking ceremony to celebrate this new effort.
Some key points include:
4000 square foot religious education addition along Hustlin' Hornet Drive
Nominal $1M investment
Funding source: parish savings over the past 8 years, loan from Diocese of CC, Kenedy Foundation grant
Contractor: Progressive Structures Inc
Groundbreaking scheduled July 16 at 9 am
Anticipated participants: Pastor Joseph Nguyen, Progressive -Craig Baldree, Diocese representative, City Representative
with shovels for a photo op. Members of St Paul The Apostle Finance Committee and Facility/Building Committee, Press
The ceremony is anticipated to last Tess than 15 minutes and all participants will be asked to where masks and maintain
acceptable social distance. No reception, food or drinks will be provided.
While we could forgo the ground breaking ceremony and press coverage associated with this event, we believe it is
necessary in order to reward those that have spent so much time and money to make this youth facility come to
fruition, as well as moving towards normalcy in our day to day activities. We seek your permission to conduct this
outside, open air brief ceremony for a crowd estimated to be less than 30 people. You or a representative of your
choice are cordially invited to participate.
