HomeMy WebLinkAbout032424 ORD - 05/11/2021One -Reading Ordinance authorizing City Manager or designee to execute the Contract with Texas Department of State Health Services which provides $18,073,609 for COVID-19 Vaccination services provided December 1 2020 through June 30, 2024 to be used to increase, train, and monitor vaccine sites and providers; appropriating the funds in the No. 1066 Grant Fund; authorizing the Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District Director to contract with third parties for the provision of services under the Contract; and authorizing use of Contract funds to pay pre -award costs which total approximately $20,000 Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas: SECTION 1. That the City Manager or his designee, the Director of the Corpus Christi- Nueces County Public Health District, is authorized to execute the Contract No. HHS001019500010 under the COVID-19 Immunizations Grant Program which provides $18,073,609 for COVID-19 Vaccination services provided December 1, 2020 through June 30, 2024. SECTION 2. The funds from the Contract are appropriated in the No. 1066 grant fund. SECTION 3. The Director is authorized to contract with third parties for provision of services under the Contract. SECTION 4. That use of the Contract funds to pay pre -award costs which total approximately $20,000 is approved. SECTION 5. Upon written request of the Mayor or five City Council members, copy attached, the City Council: (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and takes effect upon first reading as an emergency measure on this `11‘''. day of rt\..0\, , 2021.
