from the Texas Department of State Health Services grant contract for Public
Health Crisis Response Cooperative Agreement to perform monitoring and
possible mitigation activities to address Coronavirus for the contract period
through March 15, 2022.
Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi,Texas:
Section 1. The City Manager or designee is authorized to execute all documents
necessary to accept and appropriate Amendment No. 1 to contract with Texas
Department of State Health Services HHS00076870001 in the amount of$293,171 in the
Health Grants Fund No. 1066 for the contract period through March 15, 2022 to perform
monitoring and possible mitigation activities to address Coronavirus 2019 (Covid-19).
The City Manager or designee is authorized to execute Amendment No. 1 to Contract
HHS 000904900001 to extend the contract through March 15, 2022 and Amendment
No. 2 to Contract HHS 000904900001 to revise the budget for the grant.
Section 2. The City Manager or designee is authorized to execute any future amendments
to the grant contract which extend the contract period or increase or decrease the amount
of the grant.
Section 3. A copy of the executed amendments shall be filed in the office of the City
Secretary.
Section 4. Upon the written request of the Mayor or majority of the members of the
Council, copy attached, the City Council: (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the
need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City
affairs; and (2) suspends the City Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting
upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and takes effect
upon first reading as an emergency measure on this the 2 1 "day ofWtIil ,

emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances at two regular meetings: I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said

meeting of the City Council.
