HomeMy WebLinkAbout032675 ORD - 02/22/2022One -reading ordinance repealing Ordinance No. 032593; amending the City of Corpus Christi Operating Budget for the Fiscal Year 2021-2022 to establish the budget for the City Operated Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District; and appropriating funds as provided in the budget for the City Operated Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District. WHEREAS, the City and County are have entered a Cooperative Agreement to provide for the City Operation of the Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District effective March 1, 2022. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 032593 is hereby repealed. SECTION 2. Effective March 1, 2022, the Operating Budget for the Fiscal Year 2021- 2022 is amended to establish and add the City Operated Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District with 60 positions, as shown in Exhibit A attached to and incorporated in this ordinance. The 60 positions do not account for grant -funded positions. The number of positions authorized for the City Operated Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District represents the number of positions that the City and County maintained under the previous Cooperative Agreement for the Public Health District. SECTION 3. Effective March 1, 2022, the Operating Budget for the Fiscal Year 2021- 2022 is amended to add the Nueces County membership contributions to City Operated Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District revenue, as shown in Exhibit B attached to and incorporated in this ordinance. SECTION 4. Effective March 1, 2022, the Operating Budget for the Fiscal Year 2021- 2022 is amended to add the City Operated Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District expenditures, as shown in Exhibit C attached to and incorporated in this ordinance. SECTION 5. Effective March 1, 2022, the Nueces County membership contributions for the City Operated Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District, as shown in Exhibit B, are appropriated to cover the sums for the City Operated Corpus Christi- Nueces County Public Health District expenditures, as shown in Exhibit C. SECTION 6. SECTION 7. Upon the written request of the Mayor or majority of the members of the Council, copy attached, the City Council: (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs; and (2) suspends the City Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and takes ffect upon first reading as an emergency measure on this the day of i -Q jrvgv r, , , 2022.
