Wheel & Frame Co., of Houston, for $87,337.50 to be used by the Police
Department, with FY 2022 funding of $44,063.76 from the Fire Grants
Fund and $43,273.74 from the Law Enforcement Trust fund.
WHEREAS, the Police Department requires efficient, well -designed, and reliable
equipment to meet the operational needs of the department;
WHEREAS, a qualified vendor has been identified who can provide the necessary
trailer and modifications to meet and sustain the department's operational needs;
WHEREAS, State law provides that such procurements, as described above, are
subject to statutory procurement requirements, including competitive bids, unless an
exception applies; and
WHEREAS, there is a statutory exception for this procurement in Local
Government Code, Section 252.022(a)(2), as this purchase is necessary to preserve or
protect the public health or safety of the City's residents.
Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas:
Section 1. The City Council specifically finds that the foregoing statements included in
the preamble of this resolution are true and correct and adopts such findings for all intents
and purposes related to the authorization of this procurement.
Section 2. The City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to execute all documents
necessary to purchase a dive trailer from Trailer Wheel & Frame Co., of Houston, for
$87,337.50 for use by the Police Department, with FY 2022 funding of $44,063.76 from
the Fire Grants Fund and $43,273.74 from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund.

below is in the Treasury to the credit of the Fund specified below, from which it is to be drawn, and has
not been appropriated for any other purpose. Future payments are subject to annual appropriation
by the City Council.
