HomeMy WebLinkAbout032840 RES - 08/30/2022Resolution authorizing a three-year software subscription agreement with JusticeTrax, Inc., of Mesa, Arizona, in the amount of $152,900.00 for forensics laboratory software for the Police Department, with FY 2022 funding from the Paul Coverdell Forensic Sciences Improvement Grant in the Police Grants Fund. WHEREAS, the Police Department requires efficient, well -designed, and reliable software to meet the operational needs of the department; WHEREAS, a qualified vendor has been identified who can provide the necessary forensics laboratory software to meet and sustain the department's operational needs; WHEREAS, State law provides that such procurements, as described above, are subject to statutory procurement requirements, including competitive bids, unless an exemption applies; WHEREAS, there is a statutory exemption for this procurement in Local Government Code, Section 252.022(a)(2), as this purchase is necessary to preserve or protect the public health or safety of the City's residents; and WHEREAS, there is a second statutory exemption for this procurement in Local Government Code, Section 252.022(a)(7)(A), as this purchase is available from only one source due to patents, copyrights, secret processes, or natural monopolies; therefore, Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas: Section 1. The City Council specifically finds that the foregoing statements included in the preamble of this resolution are true and correct and adopts such findings for all intents and purposes related to the authorization of this procurement. Section 2. The City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to execute all documents necessary to obtain a three-year software subscription agreement for forensics laboratory software for the Police Department from JusticeTrax Inc., of Mesa, Arizona, in the amount of $152,900.00, with FY 2022 funding from the Paul Coverdell Forensic Sciences Improvement Grant in the Police Grants Fund.
