regarding 9-1-1 emergency service fees as of January 1, 2023.
Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, that:
SECTION 1. Section 55-7 "Local exchange access line 9-1-1-service fee", Subsection (b)
of the Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances, is amended to read as follows:
(b) 9-1-1 emergency service fee.
Each service supplier in the city shall collect a 9-1-1 emergency service fee of elle
dollar and sixt„ cents ($1.60) one dollar and eighty cents ($1.80) per month for
each residential local exchange access line; two dollars ($2.00) two dollars and
forty cents ($2.40) per month for each business local exchange access line; and
two dnnars and forty cents ($2.40) four dollars and thirty cents ($4.30) per month
for each business trunk local exchange access line. The 9-1-1 emergency service
fee shall be used only for costs attributable to equipment and personnel necessary
to operate the city's public safety answering point.
SECTION 2. Publication shall be made in the official publication of the City of Corpus
Christi as required by the City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi. The changes to the
9-1-1 emergency service fees as reflected in this Ordinance take effect on January 1,
2023.
