U.S. Department of Transportation for funding from the Reconnecting
Communities Pilot (RCP) Grant Program in the amount of up to $2,000,000 with a
City cash match of up to $400,000.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1: This resolution authorizes the City of Corpus Christi to submit a grant
application for funding under the U.S., Department of Transportation (USDOT) for
funding from the Reconnecting Communities Pilot Grant Program in the amount of up to
$2,000,000 with a city cash match of up to $400,000. The RCP program is dedicated to
reconnecting communities previously cut off from economic opportunities by
transportation infrastructure. The City's RCP planning grant application focuses on
preliminary engineering design work, construction costs estimates, and prioritization of
projects that will reconnect the Washington -Coles neighborhood with the downtown
districts.
SECTION 2: The City of Corpus Christi designates the City Manager, or designee, as the
grantee's authorized official. The authorized official is given the power to apply for, accept,
reject, alter, or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant agency.
