$281,193.79 from State of Texas, Criminal Justice Division for Victims
of Crime Act Grant with an in-kind match of $18,080.00; appropriating
$281,193.79 in the Police Grants Fund; and authorizing five full-time
positions.
WHEREAS, The City Council finds it in the best interest of the citizens of Corpus
Christi that the Victims of Crime Act Grant be operated for the FY 2023 year and
WHEREAS, City Council agrees to provide applicable matching funds for the said
projects as required by the Criminal Justice Division grant application; and
WHEREAS, City Council agrees that in the event of loss or misuse of the Office of
the Governor Funds, City Council assures that the funds will be returned to the
Office of the Governor in full.
WHEREAS, City Council designates the Chief of Police as the grantee's
authorized official. The authorized official is given the power to apply for, accept,
reject alter or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant agency.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Manager or designee is authorized to execute all documents
necessary to accept a grant from the State of Texas, Criminal Justice Division for Victims
of Crime Act in the amount of $281,193.79 with an in-kind match of $18,080.00.
SECTION 2. $281,193.79 is appropriated in the No. 1061 Police Grants Fund
SECTION 3. Five FTEs are authorized.
