Heavy Machinery Services, LLC, in an amount not to exceed
$266,250.00 for repairs of John Deere construction equipment for the
Asset Management Department, with FY 2023 funding of $73,958.33
from the Fleet Maintenance Service Fund.
WHEREAS, repairs to John Deere brand construction equipment is necessary to
ensure continued progress on various construction projects that utilize such equipment
provided by the Asset Management Department;
WHEREAS, State law provides that such procurements, as outlined above, are
subject to statutory procurement requirements, including competitive bids, unless an
exemption applies; and
WHEREAS, there is a statutory exemption for this procurement in Local
Government Code, Section 252.022(a)(2), as this purchase is necessary to preserve or
protect the public health or safety of the City's residents.
Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas:
Section 1. The City Council specifically finds that the foregoing statements included in
the preamble of this resolution are true and correct and adopts such findings for all intents
and purposes related to the authorization of this procurement.
Section 2. The City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to execute a three-year
service agreement with Doggett Heavy Machinery Services, LLC, for repairs to John
Deere brand construction equipment in an amount not to exceed $266,250.00, with FY
2023 funding of $73,958.33 from the Fleet Maintenance Service fund.

which it is to be drawn, and has not been appropriated for any other purpose. Future payments
