Dispatch Center Interlocal Agreement between the City of Corpus
Christi and Nueces County to include in the agreement the City of
Bishop as a MetroCom participant.
WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi (City) and Nueces County (County) are parties to
an Interlocal Cooperation Agreement dated June 5, 2000 (Consolidated Dispatch
Emergency Center; MetroCom), providing for the City and County consolidate their public
safety dispatch centers into a single public safety answering point known as "MetroCom"
for the areas served by the City and County;
WHEREAS, the City and County are parties to an Interlocal Cooperation Agreement
dated April 4, 2003, being the first amendment to the Consolidated Dispatch Emergency
Center Interlocal Agreement establishing a cost allocation method; and
WHEREAS, the City and County are parties to an Interlocal Cooperation Agreement
dated November 10, 2010 (MetroCom Consolidated Dispatch Emergency Center), being
the second amendment to the Consolidated Dispatch Emergency Center Interlocal
Agreement;
WHEREAS, the City and County wish to update the agreement to include the City of
Bishop to consolidate its public safety dispatch center with MetroCom for the areas served
by Bishop.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Manager or designee is authorized to execute Amendment #3 to
the Interlocal Cooperation Agreement with Nueces County to include the City of Bishop
(Bishop) to consolidate its public safety dispatch center with MetroCom for the areas
served by Bishop.
