HomeMy WebLinkAbout032995 ORD - 03/07/2023Ordinance authorizing the acceptance of a grant from the Office of the Attorney General - Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention for the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force program, in the amount of $10,000.00 to purchase forensic computer equipment and software licenses for the Corpus Christi Police Department; and appropriating the $10,000.00 in the Police Grants Fund. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. The City Manager or designee is authorized to execute all documents necessary to accept a grant in the amount of $10,000.00 from the Office of the Attorney General — Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention for the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force program for the purchase of items/equipment for the investigations and prosecutors of persons involved in child abuse and exploitation involving the Internet. SECTION 2. The City of Corpus Christi designates the Chief of Police as the grantee's authorized official. The authorized official is given the power to apply for, accept, reject, alter, or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant agency. SECTION 3. That $10,000.00 is appropriated in the No. 1061 Police Grants Fund from the Attorney General — Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention for the purchase of licenses for 4 forensic software packages, hard drives, and flash drives ICAC Task Force program. SECTION 4. In the event of the loss or misuse of the these funds, the City of Corpus Christi assures that the funds will be returned to the Office of the Attorney General — Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention in full. SECTION 5.
