HomeMy WebLinkAbout033052 ORD - 05/23/2023Ordinance authorizing acceptance of Center for Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Grant for $205,548.00 with an in-kind match of $20,565.00 from the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS); and appropriating $205,548.00 in the Health Grant Fund to provide Laboratory Response Network (LRN) Level 3 chemical laboratory surge capacity activities for the period of July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024. Be it Ordained by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas: SECTION 1. The City Manager or designee is authorized to execute all documents necessary to amend Contract No. HHS001311400005 (the "Contract") between the Texas Department of State Health Services ("DSHS") and Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District to increase the grant amount by $205,548.00 with an in-kind match of $20,565.00 for the period July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024, to provide Laboratory Response Network (LRN) Level 3 chemical laboratory surge capacity activities. SECTION 2. Funds in the amount of $205,548.00 are appropriated in the Health Grants Fund No. 1066 to pay for personnel costs, supplies, and other expenses; to provide a Public Health Emergency Preparedness Laboratory Response Program to maintain and support an action plan to respond to an act of bioterrorism and biological threats in the community. SECTION 3. The City Manager or designee is authorized to execute any future amendments to the Contract which extend the contract period or increase or decrease the amount of the grant. SECTION 4.
