the Texas Department of Transportation to the City of Corpus Christi, located in
City Council District 1.
WHEREAS, the estimated cost of future maintenance on the property equals or exceeds
the estimated fair value of the property;
WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi wishes to undertake full jurisdiction, control and
maintenance of the property more particularly described in Exhibit A for public
transportation purposes;
WHEREAS, after passage of this resolution and approval of the Texas Transportation
Commission, staff and the Texas Department of Transportation will negotiate a deed to
convey the property to the City of Corpus Christi;
WHEREAS, Texas Department of Transportation will complete improvements to State
Highway 9 prior to execution of the conveyance document.
Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas:
SECTION 1. Upon transfer of the property more particularly described in Exhibit A
attached hereto from the State of Texas, acting by and through the Texas Transportation
Commission, to the City of Corpus Christi, the City of Corpus Christi undertakes full
jurisdiction, control and maintenance of the property.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager or designee is authorized to administratively take all
actions necessary to effectuate the transfer of the property to the City of Corpus Christi.
