HomeMy WebLinkAbout033283 RES - 01/30/2024 Resolution authorizing a one-year service agreement, with two one- year options, with Certified Collision Works, LLC, of Corpus Christi, in an amount not to exceed $101,937.00, and a potential amount of $305,811.00 if options are exercised, for vehicle paint and body repairs for Asset Management, with FY 2023 funding of $67,958.00 from the Fleet Maintenance Service Fund. WHEREAS, State law provides that, if a competitive sealed bidding requirement applies to a contract for goods or services, the contract must be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder or to the bidder who provides the best value, pursuant to Texas Local Government Code §252.043(a); WHEREAS, the City notified all bidders for Vehicle Paint and Body Repairs for Asset Management - Fleet, Bid No.5475, that a contract would be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder; WHEREAS, the City finds that the lowest responsive, responsible bidder is Certified Collision Works, LLC.; and WHEREAS, in the event the lowest responsive, responsible bidder fails to execute the awarded contract or fails to perform under the contract as to any services, the City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to execute a service agreement for the remaining contract term with the next lowest bidder in Bid No. 5475, in succession, to secure necessary replacement for vehicle paint and body repairs for Asset Management— Fleet, as a matter of public safety, to cover all aspects of maintaining the City's vehicles; now, therefore, Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas: Section 1. The City Council specifically finds that the foregoing statements included in the preamble of this resolution are true and correct and adopts such findings for all intents and purposes related to the authorization of this procurement. Section 2. The City Manager, or his designee ("City Manager"), is authorized to execute a one-year service agreement, with two one-year options, with Certified Collision Works, LLC, ("Contractor"), in an amount not to exceed $101,937.00, with a potential amount of $305,811.00 if options are exercised as stated in Bid No. 5475. Furthermore, in the event the Contractor fails to execute the service agreement or fails to perform under the executed agreement, the City Manager is authorized to execute a replacement service agreement for the remainder of the contract term in accordance with the language stated in the preamble of this resolution.
