Mrs. Levi Mattern, 325 Ohio, commented on the crumbling wall where
sewer lines are emptying into the Bay at Cole Park, and suggested that instead
of the City rebuilding the wall, that the City build a pleasure pier extending
from Cole Park out into the Bay with a refreshment concession and sheltered
benches, and that the cost of building could be paid for out of revenues received
from the concession stand and those people using the pier paying a nominal ad-
mission charge.
Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Blankert commented on the recreational advantages
of such a pier for the citizens and the attraction for tourists.
Commissioner Young requested that City Manager Whitney look into and
report on the possibility of amending the zoning ordinance with regard to basic
minimum construction standards required in residential zoning classifications.
There being no further business to come before the Council, the meet-
ing was adjourned.
